1. Power off the espresso machine and disconnect the plug from the outlet.
  2. Remove the top cover and the water tank inside.
  3. To gain access to the inside, you have to remove the top panel. There are 2 screws you need to remove with a Philips head screwdriver.
  4. Once you remove the screws, use the screwdriver to help wedge the top panel out.
  5. Locate the steam thermostat and press in the red button. If it does not press inward, you may have blown the element without tripping the thermostat.
To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine, which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. Lacking the recommended surge suppressor can cause the unit damage at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurestat or the wiring inside.
