KEY FEATURES

Double Probe System

In contrast to classical heat-exchange systems that can overheat, the double probe system keeps the brewing temperature constant, preventing long waits between coffees.

Silent Pump

Because of the silent pump, the Mara X pump produces a continuous water flow that delivers the best results for every kind of roast and coffee.

Eco-mode

After a period of inactivity, the energy-saving system reduces steam boiler pressure. It takes the machine up to 24 minutes to warm up after being switched on.

Xmode

In the latest Mara X software, the user has access to more steam power by setting the round button to the "1" position. By doing this, the resistance is active during coffee delivery and this allows the steam pressure to rise. In this mode, several coffees can be brewed in sequence, but at the end of these there will be 10-20 minutes in which the brew group will have an superheating balance phase.

This mode has two benefits. The first is to ensure that the exchanger heats up water faster, since cold water is exchanged for hot water during coffee delivery, this allows the machine to deliver more coffees in succession. The second advantage is to raise the pressure in the steam part of the boiler to allow the operator to have sufficient pressure to froth milk.

NOTES

  • Within the Mara X, the pressure inside the steam part of the boiler is always kept between two values, one minimum and one maximum, for example 112-118 °. If the temperature in the coffee exchanger is below the set value, the pressure in the steam part will increase to the maximum value (118 °). If the temperature in the coffee exchanger is above the set value, the pressure in the steam part of the boiler will drop to the minimum value (112 °).
  • To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. the lack of the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurestat or the wiring inside.
  • To increase the useful life of and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and without magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled water, purified water, nor reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale.
  • We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. The reason is that too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine.
  • The boiler for Mara machines is made of copper (CW024A type- having the 0,015% to a max. 0,040% of lead) with the flanges made of CW510L alloy (OT57- free-lead brass).
The L58E brewer and the steam and hot water taps, are made of brass (OT58 – “CW617N”), but a surface processing (Stecrhome type- NSF regulation conformity) is performed, to reduce the lead migration.

SUMMARY

With the Lelit Mara X, you can control a number of variables that are typically not available with machines at its price point. With automatic control of the extraction temperature, it essentially allows you to brew the perfect coffee at the right temperature!
